DIMAPUR/MOKOKCHUNG/TUENSANG/TENING/TSEMINYU/MEDZIPHEMA/Zunheboto, JUNE 17 (MExN): The Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan (DA-JGUA) under the Dharti Aaba Janabhagidari campaign was launched across various districts in Nagaland including Dimapur, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Tening, Tseminyu, and Medziphema with the objective of delivering essential government services and ensuring saturation of welfare schemes among tribal households.
In Dimapur, the campaign was launched at the Multi-Purpose Building, Thahekhu Village on June 17. The programme was chaired by A. Nikato Wotsa, Legal Advisor, Thahekhu Village Council. Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr Tinojongshi Chang, in his keynote address, highlighted the central government’s commitment towards tribal empowerment and saturation of welfare schemes.

Dr Chang noted that Dimapur’s earlier success under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra initiative had brought national recognition and that the DA-JGUA campaign would now further strengthen service delivery. Seventeen line departments are participating in the 15-day campaign, focusing on door-to-door outreach and documentation drives, especially Aadhaar enrolment.
He stated that the goal is to ensure “no household is left behind.” The campaign converges services from 17 central ministries including Aadhaar, ration cards, health insurance, scholarships, job cards, soil health cards, and e-Shram cards, as well as schemes like PM Awas Yojana, Har Ghar Jal, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, and Digital India.
The welcome address was delivered by George Ayemi, Chairman of Thahekhu Village Council, and Kakheho Yepthomi, Head GB, also addressed the gathering. Beneficiaries shared success stories from previous welfare schemes. The vote of thanks was proposed by Imlijungla Lemtur, EAC and Nodal Officer for DA-JGUA.
In Mokokchung, the DA-JGUA campaign was launched on June 16 at Ungma Council Assembly Hall. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, who was the special guest, stated that the campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, focuses on holistic development and aims to provide direct access to schemes between June 15 and 30.
He urged village councils and stakeholders to spread awareness and ensure that no beneficiary is left out.
The event covered five villages—Ungma, Longkhum, Mangmetong, Kupza, and Longsa. Short addresses were delivered on Ayushman Bharat Card by Takotemjen Longkumer (LDA, CMO Office), Soil Health Card by Ruokuosietuo (District Soil Conservation Officer), and Financial Inclusion by L. Simon Peter (Lead District Manager). The programme was chaired by IAS officer Ajay Moktan. Invocation was offered by T. Chuba Jamir, Associate Pastor, Ungma Baptist Church. EAC Ongpangkong, Sangpangchang Longkumer delivered the welcome address and BDO Ongpangkong North, Kazupokba gave the vote of thanks.
In Tuensang district, the campaign was launched at Hakchang village under Sangsangyu Block on June 17. The event was led by District Nodal Officer for Dharti Aaba Abhiyan, Er Moasanen Imsong, EAC Tuensang, and Toking Yimkhiung, EAC Sangsangyu, along with officials from various line departments, banks, and the postal department.
The cluster campaign covers seven villages—Sangsangyu, Maksha, Hakchang, Nyinyem, Kejok, Konya, and Momching.
Altogether 15 departments participated in the launch, offering key services such as Aadhaar enrolment and correction, Indira Gandhi Pension Schemes (old age, widow, disability), PMMVY, PM-KISAN, KCC, CMHIS/Ayushman Bharat registration, MNREGA, CMMFI loans, Jan Dhan accounts, Mudra loans, PM Vishwakarma registration, ST/Indigenous/PRC certificate issuance.
The campaign will continue till June 30, covering 36 villages in total, with the objective of ensuring that tribal communities receive the full range of government benefits.
In Tening, the campaign was launched on June 16 at the Old Town Hall. Additional Deputy Commissioner, K. Furhesie Nyuwi, while addressing officials from line departments, stated that the 15-day campaign aims to raise awareness, organise saturation camps, and provide services to eligible citizens.
Key services include Aadhaar registration, PM-KISAN, KCC, MNREGA, old-age pension scheme, PMMVY, PMJJBY, PMJDY, and other central schemes.
Representatives from all government departments, Tening Town Council, and village councils participated in the launch. The campaign will cover all villages in the Tening subdivision.
Simultaneously, in Tseminyu, a Janjatiya Gaurav Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camp was launched at Council Hall, Gukhanyu Village on June 16. Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch (NCS) encouraged public participation and emphasised the availability of schemes related to health, education, social welfare, livelihood, housing, and skills development.
He said the campaign will ensure saturation of services such as PM-KISAN, KCC, Aadhaar enrolment, PMJAY, CMHIS, Jan Dhan Yojana, MUDRA loans, and welfare schemes under Social Welfare and Rural Development departments.
The District Administration of Tseminyu will coordinate with all concerned line departments to facilitate the successful conduct of the camp and ensure that benefits reach the grassroots.
In Medziphema, a coordination meeting for the campaign was held on June 17 at the City Centre conference hall under the chairmanship of ADC Medziphema, P. James Swu. The meeting discussed logistical arrangements for the Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camp scheduled for June 24.
The campaign will cover nine villages under Medziphema subdivision, aiming to improve socio-economic conditions through infrastructure, healthcare, education, and livelihood support.
The meeting was attended by representatives from NGOs, banks, MTC, VCC, VDB, Aadhaar Seva, MTSU Beckon Club, CSC, 22nd Assam Rifles CIH, ICAR (KUK), CHC, UFATI, and officials from BDO, CDPO, and SDAO.
The launching programme of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarash Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) was held at the New Pangsha Council Hall, Noklak, on June 17.
The programme was graced by the Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) of Noklak, Apuloka H Sumi, along with officials from various line departments.
Speaking at the event, EAC Apuloka H Sumi highlighted the aim of the Abhiyan, which is to bring development and progress to tribal villages through coordinated efforts of different departments.
He encouraged the villagers to take full benefit of the scheme and work together with the officials to ensure proper implementation. He highlighted that the main aim of this campaign is to bring service delivery to their doorstep.
In Zunheboto, the 15-day Dharti awareness and saturation campaign was formally launched in at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall on June 16.
Speaking at the launch event, Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Dharam Raj (IAS), underscored the campaign’s core objective of achieving complete coverage of welfare schemes in the district. He highlighted the need for close coordination among departments and emphasized collaborative efforts to maximize outreach and effectiveness.
Addressing the Heads of Departments (HODs), the DC urged all stakeholders to work closely with village-level functionaries to develop and implement structured programmes tailored to local needs. He stressed the importance of intensified grassroots awareness drives to ensure that no eligible citizen is left behind.
“While we recognize the constraints and challenges, I encourage everyone to work together with commitment and unity to overcome them. With coordinated efforts, we can make this campaign a success,” Raj stated.
