Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): The Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) has sought under RTI from the Governor’s office, information regarding what action the Nagaland Governor had done over the coalition’s January 14 petition to restore the government. Representing the DAN, former legislator Yitachu addressed a letter to the Governor demanding response within 48 hours.
He sought information on “the details of action taken by the governor on the request signed by 24 MLAs comprising 19 NPF and 4 BJP legislature party’s members and one independent member separately for restoring the government of the democratic Alliance of Nagaland and for reviving the Legislative Assembly forthwith, submitted to the Governor on the 14th (of) January, 2008.”
Yitachu also queried whether or not the governor is conducting SMART governance (sic) as assured in a press release, on the President’s Rule in the state. If so, why the delay and why the Governor has not posted the developments on the said request of 24 MLAs to the people of Nagaland on a daily basis.
“Whether the SMART governance he meant is for the people of the state or any other. If it means for the people, the request of a majority of the MLAs of the 10th Legislative Assembly is a matter of public importance and has become a matter of public domain and everybody has got the right to know. Why is such an inordinate delay of the action taken?” The DAN queried.
