Kohima, April 6 (MExN): High School Daredevils won the 3rd 10 Northern Angami-1 T20 Bash 2016 beating Lower Bayavü Giants by one wicket in a closely contested final. With this win, the Daredevils have won the championship three times in a row. The champions Daredevils won Rs. 1 lakh while runners up Giants took away Rs. 50000. Daredevils winning the toss had elected to field and restricted the Giants to 134 (all out) in the stipulated 20 overs. Ato with 44 runs in 38 balls led the scoring and was assisted by Chumbe who scored a run a ball 23 runs. Anga with figures of 2/16 was the pick of the bowlers. Anga also led the run chase scoring 58 runs from 48 balls. The run chase was far from easy though as Tapitu with 3/23 and Moarenba with 2/14 troubled the Daredevils batsmen. In the end though, the Daredevils just managed to get past the target in 19.2 overs scoring 136 with one wicket remaining. Anga was awarded the Man of the match for his match winning effort with both bat and ball. Ruduovotso of High School Daredevils won the Man of the series award. Tapitu of Lower Bayavü Giants was awarded the Best batsman for his 259 runs while Thungchamo also of Lower Bayavü Giants was awarded the Best bowler. Chede Strikers were awarded Spirit of cricket award.
