Mon, September 27 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mon, W. Honje Konyak in line with the direction issued by the Election Commission of India on August 23, 2017, for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls w.e.f January 1, 2018 as qualifying date, has appealed to all Heads of Department, leaders of NGOs, churches and political parties to inform their colleagues and subordinates in their respective establishments, to check their enrollment in the E-Roll and get enrolled in case of non-enrollment, deletion of names in case of double enrollment and undertake corrections as and where required.
W. Honje Konyak stated that the ratio of Electoral Population (EP) in the district is below 50%. He apprised of the many discrepancies in the electoral health of the district, maintaining that only 15% in the age group of 18-19 years are enrolled in the E-Roll compared to 321% enrollment (i.e. 3618 electoral enrollment more than the projected 2017 population census) in the age group of 80 years and above. He also apprised of the low female gender ratio in the E-Roll, as compared to the population census.
