Kohima, April 30 (MExN): In pursuance to the directives of the State government and as decided by the Kohima District Task Force on COVID-19 during its meeting held on April 29, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima Gregory Thejawelie has issued directives for strict compliance by all concerned in the district in order to control the spread of COVID-19.
All schools, colleges, coaching/vocational institutions/student hostels etc shall be closed until further notice. However, online/ distance learning shall continue to be permitted and shall be encouraged, the directive stated.
All cinema halls, swimming pools, gymnasiums, entertainment parks, auditoriums, theatres, assembly halls, sports complexes and stadiums, and public places like parks, museums, libraries, re-creation centres, etc. are to be closed until further notice.
Social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions and other large congregations will be permitted outside the containment zones, but the gathering shall not be more than 30% of the capacity of the hall/venue/ground or 100 persons, whichever is lower, subject to COVID-19 appropriate behaviors, it added.
Religious places/place of worship will be permitted to open outside the containment zones subject to a maximum of 30% of the capacity of the hall/building at any point of time or 100 persons whichever is lower and with strict adherence to all the provisions of the SOPs, it stated.
Every inbound traveler/returnees on arrival will be required to produce a negative RTPCR/TruNat/CBNAAT test report for COVID-19 with the test done not earlier than 72 (seventy two) hours prior to entry into the State and such persons will be further required to remain in self-isolation/quarantine for 7 days. In other cases, the person concerned after entry will be required to self-isolate/quarantine for 10 days, the DC directed.
All Gaonburas/Chairmen of Village Councils/colonies/wards have been directed to identify any person arriving from outside the State in their respective jurisdictions and instruct such persons to report to the District Surveillance Team Kohima.
The movement of private vehicles and public transportation like city buses and taxis is permitted. However, occupancy in every kind of vehicle is limited to 50% of the total capacity. Passengers have been directed to follow all COVID-19 protocols like wearing masks, using hand sanitizers and maintaining social distance at all times.
Random screening tests will continue to be conducted from time to time as per government directives, it added.
All residents of Kohima district have been directed to observe COVID-l9 appropriate behaviors including avoiding crowded places, compulsory wearing of facemasks and if eligible, avail COVID-19 vaccination. All Gaonburas/Chairmen of Village Councils/colonies/wards in addition to enforcement committees and police have been directed to ensure compliance to COVID-19 appropriate behaviors and other SOPs in their respective jurisdictions.
Any person violating this order shall be penalized as per the provision of the Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 beside legal action under section 188 of the IPC, it added.
