Mokokchung, January 20 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal has ordered all the licensed arms holders to deposit their arms and ammunitions to the concerned Police stations within a period of seven days.
In an order, DC said the prevailing law and order situation has been reviewed and examined minutely in view of the announcement of election to the 13th State Legislative Assembly Elections and it was necessary to keep all the licensed arms in safe custody of police stations to ensure maintenance of law and order during election in the district. However any individual wishing to appeal against this order may submit his written justification for retaining his/her licensed arms to the DC on all office working days.
The order further said that the deposited arms and ammunitions may be withdrawn one week after the declaration of the Election result.
