Mokokchung, November 1 (MExN): Due to significant damage to the Bailey Bridge located at KM 12 along National Highway 202, between Ungma and Longsa, a complete restriction on the movement of vehicles along the aforementioned route has been enforced.
In the interest of public safety, the restriction will remain in force until the concerned department completes the necessary repair works, stated a travel advisory issued by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Poji.
Non-compliance with this advisory would result in penal action in accordance with the relevant sections of the law, it added.
The Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) of Ongpangkong has also been tasked with coordinating with the concerned departments to ensure strict compliance with the travel advisory, informed the State DIPR.
Travelers commuting to and from neighbouring districts such as Tuensang, Shamator, and Noklak are advised to use the following alternative routes.
• New Sangsomong - Yehemi - Atoizu - Doyang
• Mokokchung - Chuchuyimlang - Longmisa - Alisopur - Trongar - NH 202
• Mokokchung - Dikhu - Chare (shortcut).
