Mon, August 31 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Coordination Committee Seventh Economic Census, Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS has stated that in pursuant to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, New Delhi, the Seventh Economic Census 2019 will be conducted during August/September 2019 and November/December 2019.
Information relating to economic activities being carried out within the geographical boundary of Mon District will be collected/verified by enumerator/supervisors appointed by the Common Service Centres, through door to door survey with the help of mobile application in the prescribed format. All citizens have been requested to provide them accurate information.
Information collected through the Economic Census will help in generating actual economic status of the enterprises in the District. The information collected will be immensely helpful for developing policies towards improving the standard of living of the people engage in the economic activities. It will also help in generating insights into creating intensive employment opportunities and the information provided will be kept completely confidential.
DC Mon notified that the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting will be held every Friday to discuss the matter relating the 7th Economic Census. Enumeration of the Economic Census has been started in rural area Mon HQ on August 30.
Hence, the DC has appealed to all the citizens of Mon District to extend their cooperation and support to the Government appointed enumerators and supervisors engaged in their areas for the Seventh Economic Census 2019, and provide correct information so that the work of Economic Census in each District could get completed within the prescribed time frame and quality.
