Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): The Dimapur District Congress Committee (DCC) on Wednesday joined the Indian National Congress' nationwide "Chhatron Ki Goonj" (Students' Outcry) campaign, alleging that repeated examination irregularities, paper leaks and delayed recruitment processes have jeopardised the future of students and job seekers across the country.

Addressing a press conference at Congress Bhavan in Dimapur, DCC president Kutoho Chishi said recurring question paper leaks, examination irregularities, delayed recruitment and administrative failures had undermined the hopes and aspirations of millions of students.

He alleged that hardworking students were paying the price for corruption, incompetence and the failure of the authorities to ensure a transparent and credible examination system.

Chishi said every deserving student has the right to fair examinations, affordable education and dignified employment, adding that the nationwide campaign seeks to amplify students' voices and ensure that their concerns are heard at the highest level.

State Minority Congress chairman Javed Sarwar said the campaign was launched by the Congress to safeguard the future of students and youth, whom he described as the nation's true pillars.

Expressing concern over rising youth unemployment and what he termed an education crisis, Sarwar alleged that students who spend years preparing for competitive examinations were repeatedly being denied justice because of recurring paper leaks and a lack of accountability in the education system.

NSUI Nagaland president X Chophika said the campaign reflected the pain and frustration of millions of young Indians. He alleged that persistent issues such as examination delays, repeated paper leaks, rising education costs and unemployment were threatening the future of the country's youth.

Referring to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Chophika said he recently interacted with students at a gathering in Kota and launched the nationwide campaign after listening to their grievances. He also referred to recurring allegations of irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), claiming they had eroded the confidence of students and their families.

The DCC also demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him morally responsible for what it described as repeated failures and continuing irregularities in the country's education and examination system.

Following the press conference, the DCC screened Rahul Gandhi's speech delivered in Kota for students and organised a signature campaign in support of its demands.
