DDPODU condemns alleged murder

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN):  The Dimapur District Pick-up Van Owner’s & Driver’s Union (DDPODU) has condemned the alleged murder of one of its bonafide member, namely Emamual Ali, a resident of Seithekema ‘C’ village, Chümoukedima. The latter’s dead body was found  shot in the head with hands tied to a post ,in a waiting shed in Sechü Zubza area  by  Kohima Police on August 17.


The DDPODU in a press release issued stated that it was learned that on the night of August 16, the latter went to pick up goods (cabbages) from Senapati District Manipur, to be brought to Dimapur. Later in the morning of August 17 his dead body was recovered by the Kohima Police in a waiting shed in Sechü Zubza area. It also stated that Ali’s vehicle, a Tata Mobile Pick-up, white in color bearing the Regd. No. NL- 07A8109, was stolen by the “miscreants.”


The DDPODU appealed to the concerned authorities to conduct an inquiry into the killing and bring the responsible to justice and to trace the missing vehicle. It further conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to God to give them strength and courage to face these hours of burden.
