Dear Readers, these are some of the concrete and practical suggestions on what the Nagaland Government can do to constructively address the issue of whether the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act should continue or be lifted

•    Total prohibition only lead to rise in price which causes hardship only to the people of Nagaland unlike other state, instead of Total Prohibition it is better to instead check the quality of liquor.

•    For me, it will be better if the Government of Nagaland really implement the NLTP Act, for real, not only on paper but Total Prohibition. The GoN should worry about the precious lives of many Nagas which have been lost due to Alcohol and the many lives which are to be lost due to it. Also due to it, many families are broken because the father is not playing his role which he is supposed to. The GoN should stop worrying about the revenue it can earn via alcohol. Instead worry about the well being of the people because we need morally good people, not alcoholics. And I believe that morally good people can bring much more than revenue to the state. Or does the GoN just want the Nagas to be immersed in immoral activities and stay behind other states? Can't we keep aside the money factor and really think about the development of People and the State? The only and most important practical solution I can think of is to Totally Prohibit It (and show the world that it's really a Christian state) I believe that when that happens, all the other good things will come on its own. God bless my Nagaland.

•    Lifted - I vote for the ban to be lifted. Let us not turn blind eye, everyone knows who is sucking whom, it is a shame to act and term Nagaland as a dry state just for name sake. Let sanity knock. It is high time.

•    It should be lifted. We are in 21st century world. Stereotypical mindset is not relevant to this modern world.

•    Glad you asked. Stop NLTP Act, please...

•    It should be lifted.

•    Better to lift it. In my opinion, lifting it should be the best solution.

•    It should be lifted so that our government gets revenue; banning it doesn’t mean stopping people from taking alcohol but instead it worsen.

•    The ban should be lifted, you see this Act has done no good for anybody except help the bootleggers to sell spurious drinks and kill many youths. People who drinks will drink, people who don't, won't drink even if booze is openly available. Let people enjoy the luxury of unadulterated booze.

•    Aya! Liquor is available all around in our state we all know right. NLTP Act should be lifted for the benefits of many and let the government get the revenue.

•    The drunkards are going to find it anyhow. Should focus more on the consequences of consuming adulterated and spurious liquors or local made and the excessive price hike because of the said Act.

•    See I don’t drink but my observation is such that it is better to lift the ban because it is doing more harm when people consume syndicate alcohol and to add to that no matter the ban there are dozens of night clubs, big hotels in and around Nagaland especially Dimapur where you can get alcohol and these clubs and hotels are well protected by I don’t know who so Dry State propaganda is hypocritical and nonsense. Those who drink will go to any length to find one. Some of our so called pastors ,politicians ,village GB's their sons and daughters plus students leaders too indulges .some parents drink, smoke and chew in front of their children so, so when these kids are accustomed to seeing it day in and day out they will surely pick up those habits from their parents. Discipline starts from home with the fear of the Lord.

•    The ban must be lifted. Nobody has the right to control anybodies food habits. Lifting will pave way for good quality and cheaper price. The state will be 9 times richer if the ban is lifted. Poverty and family problems (financial) will be lessen. There will be smile and sunshine in the face of the consumers.

•    I don't get the word "Banned" where we find alcohol every corner in our state (24x7).

•    Must be lifted and government should start to levy tax on sales of alcohol in Nagaland.

•    A Christian State where selling of liquor is a sin but corruption isn't.

•    Banned it and saw any improvement? Look at States like Assam and Meghalaya, I don't see people having to spend their whole earnings on alcohol or go crazy about it because they know they'll get it anytime and it's not as pricy since it's open. Keep blocking them from drinking it'll only make them drink way more.

•    Oooh! never knew that Nagaland is a dry state where we can get banned liquor in every nook and corner in the state... Government/churches and all NGOs are living a lie with the ban of liquor.

•    25% of our Nagaland economy is being controlled by Assamese when it come to essential products where alcoholic and tobacco products are on high demand by Nagas  for the fact despite been a Christian state our state is on the second highest after Mizoram so why to banned???

•    It must be lifted and bars be opened like other states, only then we will see the decline in alcoholics.

•    Must be lifted... This NLTP Act doesn't work everyone knows it very well instead it is siphoning the hard earn money of the poor and vulnerable section of society because of the exuberant price of liquor. This act is just an open secret act as we can also witness underground activities of liquor being conducted even within law enforcement department every single day.

•    Legalize and save lives with unadulterated alcohol and generate some revenue.

•    Recently near Padampukhuri Gate two new daru theka opened and what is the so-called church association doing: Naam para hi ase action toh nai... I won’t say remove or revoke the NLTP Act but at least take actions if.

•    Should be lifted soon as possible without delaying, a single day delaying is costing more and more of one's life and economy as well... For all those years how much have bkos of this stupid act have cost and took the life of many at greater rate with draining the economy of Nagas as max adult men are drinkers, plus broking down the economy of those poor local black marketers in small towns & villages by using the law & order unjustly & unfairly. Once it get lifted, many will rush to drink but that's ok coz it won't go long with that, instead people will understand what limitations is than before wildly craving & rushing for it. I mean it'll make things easier & simpler & will bring lesser cost to one's life & family. (Lol got no proper worse to start, to continue or to end)

•    Since people from Dimapur have access to alcohol everyday from nearby Khatkati so ban does not really make a difference to Dimapur citizens. So I think lifting the ban for Dimapur only is also an option.

•    Please lift it! We want to have music festivals and most sponsors come from the alcohol company and thus promotion can’t be done mostly because of that , you want Nagaland to be the a music state first lift the ban so that continuous flow of music fest and events will happen which will be beneficial for the artist and well as for tourism. There’ is both pros and cons , cons is you just get wasted (that’s on oneself).

•    Should be lifted and make a strong rules regarding it. Make proper rules, anyone found violating the rules should be sent to the lock up by the police, etc. This will bring peaceful environment in the locality, create jobs to the unemployed youths, generate revenue for the state, etc.

•    Lift it for the 'benefits' of 'Nagas' or NLTP Act be beneficial for few

•    Fun fact: those rich alcohol owners don’t want to lift the ban because they are earning double

•    NLTP Act should be lifted Government. Should provide license to those that wants to open a liquor shop then those with license can check those selling liquor without license.

•    Let it be lifted and also encourage more of our local too

•    We are literally living a lie with the Ban of Liquor. Liquor is available everywhere and no association is doing anything to stop it even if they themselves know where to get it and that's the true scenario here

•    'BAN', is for middle and lower here. The NL 10 and VIP wallas brings in stocks without checking at border gates.

•    Let the government bark as I'd they don't know but just knows how to fool public and eat money. For the past 10 years have you seen anything new,? Unemployment at peak just guess how many vacancies are vacant why there is always contract on view of job appointment s and why NP has excess strength. Just sharing my view no hard feelings

•    I am totally against this NLTP because it couldn't make an effort to bring any change in our society.

•    First of all, how effective is this suggestion platform? Will our voices and comments be heard of? To begin with, the Act is bringing more misery than peace. It's a total failure and will go on forever till the second coming of Jesus. If drinking alcohol is a sin and destroys life, family and career then what about taking kaka sada, gutkha, smoking,or any intoxicants? What about gossip, lie, steal, hate, jealously, murder? Aren't they all sin and hampers/destroys one's spiritual life?? The NBCC should realise that we have failed to implement this act effectively and thus accept the failure of the act. The realisation will do more good than more harm. Just think of the health conditions of those of our people drinking this adulterated liquor! Infact, alcohol has health benefits if we take it moderately. But good and pure alcohol. Those who drink will keep on drinking and those who don't drink will never drink. Those who sin will keep on sinning until they seek forgiveness from Jesus and those who are holy will remain holy in the faith of Jesus. That's the bottom line. No Act, law, rules, or no human being can stop another human being from stop sinning but only by the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

•    Instead of going to the pockets of some syndicate business persons, let the 'dry status' in the wettest alcohol state be lifted n the government generate revenues so that development comes.

•    The research titled ‘effectiveness and Effects of Alcohol Regulation: evidence from India’ by Luca et al (2019) indicates that strict alcohol regulation has negative health income. There are a number of poisoning cases, rise of black market, corruption, and higher mortality as a result of banning alcohol.

•    I think the ban is just on paper to fool everyone and this ban is benefitting few syndicate only as reported earlier by one of the social workers group. Everyone knows that it's available at every junction of the town and in most of the restaurants and even if it's strictly blanket ban someday in future than Lahorijan bar n dhabas which is entirely running and dependent on Dimapur citizens now will multiply even more to accommodate the demand. Plus the government is losing heavily on tax to Assam which can be estimated to around 100 crore in years

•    Legalized and sell the best product.

•    I don't drink but if we think rationally banning Alcohol did not dry up Nagaland instead it becomes wetter and unnecessary expenditures are much visible as we saw and frankly, I should say we don't check the suppliers we check those who sell one or two bottles in  pan shops.

•    Nagaland government must take example from Assam government. We don't see any person getting drunk and creating scene on the streets in Assam so, better it should be lifted and give license to the Liquor shop owner's and make rules for the consumers not to openly drink in the streets.

•    Ban should be lifted to a greater extent in a logical ways by amending such as consumption may be limited and over consumption must be punished. Selling ban can be open in designated areas with proper guidelines, but not open for all over areas. I think we the Nagas have enough wisdom to amend this act with the best logical and strategic ways. Hence again, banned should be lifted to rectify cons of this prevailing regulations.

•    NLTP is just a way of making the rich richer and poor poorer. Unrestricted and Unregularized freedom to few sellers here and there only worsen the situation. It cannot be considered Prohibited when a 12-13 year old can buy it almost anywhere so why not rather LEGALIZE & Regularise Alcohol. Divert the funds spent on Law enforcement related to NLTP to something like State's Rehabilitation centre for addicts or any other productive things rather than wasting state's resources on NLTP only to be tagged "Wettest Dry State'.

•    NLTP at this moment is just ink on a paper. Everybody knows it. Even the implementers drink the finest alcohol while sitting on it! The only action we need from the Government is acknowledging the fact that this NLTP has been a sham and has had no impact for decades. If they decide to remain ignorant and play dumb, history will repeat itself naturally. Dear Government, Bring us the change we were promised.

•    Lift the Ban. Dangg is this even a debate??? The one who supports the Act is a Hypocrite.

•    NLTP Act is a total failure and the market is flooded with spurious IMFL causing heavy damages to human health. In a cash crunch state the revenue loss cannot be ignored either. The revenue drainage from Nagaland is a boon for neighbouring states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

•    Churches (not all) are thriving on illegal money in the form of ten tithes, donations etc from corrupt politicians, businessmen, liquor barons and so on.

•    In other words. NBCC should accept donation of legal source.

•    Stop being hypocrites, be a man, and do the right thing. You were elected to govern. Time to show you actually have balls. Hell Yeah, that'd be my suggestions. Revoke.
