Dimapur, December 30 (MExN):The silver jubilee celebration-cum-16th general conference of Aghunaqa Area Students' Union(AASU) was held from December 28-30.
Under the theme, "Prosperous Tomorrow," the event was held at P. Vihoto village with Jacob Zhimomi, Advisor, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Government of Nagaland, gracing the occasion as chief guest.
Addressing a large gathering of students after unveiling the Jubilee Monolith, Jacob Zhimomi greeted the students on the occasion stating that jubilee is celebrating growth and development of students’ community.
In this regard, he also urged the students to take up new challenges and pursue it positively as they celebrate each milestone.
Zhimomi further reminded the students that degree should be followed by hardworking in order to accomplish what one desires to achieve in life.
“Textbook knowledge alone is not sufficient to face the social challenges,” he stressed.
Pointing out that students play an instrumental role in social harmony and its transformation, Zhimomi also called upon the students of Aghunaqa area to be “harbingers of peace and to maintain cordial relationship with its neighbours.”
More than a thousand students attended the silver jubilee celebration.
