Delegates from Nagaland attend Asian Conference for law students

Kohima, August 23 (MExN): A team of nine students from Kohima Law College attended the Asian Conference for law students held at Bangkok, Thailand under the theme – Redeeming Law: Christian calling and the legal Profession from August 11 to 16.  

In course of the ongoing awareness campaign on ‘Citizen Rights & Duties’ conducted by the LL.B final year students of Kohima law College, the students were selected to attend the Conference.  

The main aim of the conference was to bring together local and international law students, to learn, exchange ideas, innovate and collaborate and understand aspects of international law. It also seeks to enable and inspire laws students to become part of an expanding global movement to transform law and culture.  

Law students from various countries including Indonesia, India, South Korea, China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh & Pakistan participated organized by Alliance Defending Freedom International & Handong International Law School, Bangkok held at Hotel Holiday INN, Bangkok Silom.  

Speakers were from South Korea, Germany, India, America & Singapore covering various topics such as; A Christian perspective of Human Rights, Responding to Religious Persecution, Hallmarks of a Christian lawyers: Integrity & Excellence, Restriction on Freedom of Speech: A threat to democratic values, Christ and Modern Culture, Building a network of Christian lawyers across Asia including Devotional services on the calling of a Christian lawyer.  

A press note stated that a ‘Thanksgiving to God’ programme was held on August 20 at the residence of its Professor-in-Charge Kezhokhoto Savi where every student shared that it was challenging to attend the great teaching on the calling of a Christian lawyers.
