Demand to appoint Maths teacher at GHSS Dimapur

Dimapur, April 12 (MExN): The United Colony Council, Ward No. 20 today said it has observed certain anomalies in the recent transfer of Maths teacher from Government Higher Secondary School Dimapur to Government High School Diphupar.   The Council held a meeting on April 9 regarding the issue and observed that the post of the Maths teacher transferred from GHSS Dimapur is the only sanctioned post in the school, thus leaving GHSS Dimapur without any permanent Maths teacher post, the Council said in a letter to the Commissioner & Secretary, Department of Education & SCERT.

The letter further informed that the high school section of GHSS Dimapur with an enrolment of 585 students from Class 6 to 10 at present has 11 sections and 17 Maths periods per day. Considering this fact, the transfer of Maths teacher has made it almost impossible to teach the Maths subject, and presently, the lower class is manned by Arts teacher, it stated.   In view of the above, the United Colony Council, Ward No-20, which represents seven sectors, has requested the Commissioner & Secretary, School Education to appoint a Maths teacher immediately at GHSS Dimapur or retrieve the Maths teacher post transferred from the school for the welfare of the students within 15 days. Failing to comply with the request, the United Colony Council, Ward No-20 will be compelled to take further course of action, stated the letter which was issued by G Kits, Chairman and Imlitemsu, General Secretary.
