Demand for punishment to murder accused increases

Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has condemned the killing of Swuduve Nakro of Pholami village recently. “Such barbaric action must be condemned by all and that the culprits must be served with befitting punishment according to the law of the land,” it demanded in a press release. Meanwhile, KCCI lauded the swift and prompt action of the police personnel in nabbing the culprits. It also appealed to the government to ensure the welfare of the victim’s wife and five children.   In a separate statement, Razeba Public Organization Kohima also condemned the killing, adding such inhuman acts have no place in the civilized society. Appreciating the state police for its prompt action and arresting the accused, RPOK also urged the authority concerned not to grant bail at any cost but award befitting and severest punishment to the accused.   The Tangkhul Hoho Nagaland also expressed shock at the killing. “Imagine a precious innocent life has been taken for the lust of money. Why should we Nagas who call ourselves Christian stoop so low, mean and cheap that a fellow Naga is murdered for lust of money,” it questioned in a condemnation note. The Hoho lauded the prompt and swift action taken by police in nabbing the accused and urged the authorities concerned to award befitting and exemplary punishment to them.   The above organizations also extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for God’s comfort upon them.
