Wokha, September 10 (MExN): A training programme on Cultivation Practices of Organic Farming & ITK’s cum Demonstration on Composting was held at the Office of SDO (Sc), Bhandari on September 7 which was organized by ATMA, Bhandari Block and sponsored by ATMA Wokha.
In the programme, farmers under Bhandari Block were trained on different cultivation practices with locally available resources for control of Pest and disease management, Soil management, Water Management and Weed Management.
Different Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITK’s) followed in different parts of the country with relevance to our region were also shown and highlighted in the training. In order to encourage clean environment and organic farming, demonstration on composting using kitchen and farm waste was demonstrated practically.
The resource person of the programme was Chumbeni Odyuo SDO (Sc) cum BTT Convener, Bhandari Block.
