
Kohima, April 28 (MExN): The Directorate of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry (V&AH), Nagaland has admonished selling and purchasing of land belonging to the department at VFATI Medziphema.
“It is unfortunate that there has been rampant encroachment of the departmental land at the above mentioned area by some individuals,” stated a press release issued by Director, Department of V&AH.
The Director informed the public that Agriculture Department had procured a total area of 1050 acres from Medziphema Village on May 25, 1964 @ Rs. 200 per acre. Having bifurcated the Department of V&AH from the Agri. Department, a total area of 250 acres had been allotted to the Department of V&AH, out of which 50 acres and 21.6 acres had been parted to the Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH) and the ADC Headquarter Medziphema respectively and the remaining area still legally belongs to the Department, the release said.
In view of this land position, the Department of V&AH sternly warned any individual from purchasing any land acquired by the department and any form of development activities within the said area in Medziphema. “Anyone doing so will be doing so at his/ her own risk because in any circumstances the Department had never issued NOC to anybody,” the release added.
