DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 12 (MExN): The DGP Sports Team commemorated its golden jubilee on November 12 with Nagaland DGP, T John Longkumer unveiling a monolith and inaugurating the golden jubilee morung. Longkumer is also the President of the Nagaland Police Sports Control Board (NPSCB).
This was followed by a formal programme chaired by Ben Longkumer, NPS, Commandant NAPTC and Assistant Secretary, NPSCB. The welcome address was delivered by DIG (Training) & Secretary, NPSCB, Aotemsu IPS.
Jubilee remarks were made by the Sports Officer, Assistant Commandant, Dibambo Zeliang. Felicitation of former Sports Officers was also conducted. The jubilee song was presented by the Jubilee Choir of the DGP Sports Team and speeches were delivered by the IGP (Trg & Bdr) and Vice President NPSCB, Liremo Lotha, IPS; and the Nagaland DGP, TJ Longkumer, IPS.
Vote of Thanks was proposed by ABI Imliyanger and the closing prayer was pronounced by Rev Dr Hukashe Zhimomi, Executive Secretary, NPBCA.
The DGP Sports Team was raised in 1970 under the stewardship and leadership of the former IGP Nagaland, RD Pande, IPS.
A press release from the organizers informed that all the activities were carried out with strict compliance and in adherence to COVID-19 SOPs and safety protocols. The event ended with a feast.
