Dialogue on Tuisem’s ‘Confession’

Can I also say something on Shishaks debacle

It’s a short note for now, as I will be giving more inputs in the course of our debate.

First of all, all writers on Shishak “for or against” have not really dwelled on the crux of the issue on the bond of contention of all concern. Except NSCN (IM) press release through Steering committee (acceptable or not acceptable). However, almost all respectable writers from churches or individual have tried to focus only on the word “CONFESSION” alone, whereby creating a vacuum for the people to understand the crux of the issue, who have not followed up this fiasco.  While trying to defuse the situation in a way where there is  truth with justice  done to all parties, they have created more confusion taking God’s name dwelling only on the upper layer and focusing on the Comfortable, non controversial, acceptable by all religion, cast and sex  the word “CONFESSION”.

Who does not agree on any confession by any person(s) or group(s)? This is what every religion teaches us. For I, as a Christian my priority to be nearer to my God is to confess my sins, However, we should also be careful while trying to confess our sin we should not be judgmental since God alone will judge. (“…Thou shall not take my name in vain…”)However, we all have failed to review Shishak’s fiasco to look from all angles to make it more realistic and tolerable to all and unfold the mistake and the truth. On the other hand, Tangkhul Long may too have their best reason for their decision; but they also have failed to give out to the general public the WHOLE PROCESS on how such painful decision was taken.

Last but not the least, while appreciating all writers for trying their best to interpret it from the religious point of view, nevertheless, the Shishak’s article itself was very political and that’s how it is NOW. Can we deny it? I feel it will be good to end up with Thomas Jefferson’s Note….. “with Chauvinism, jingoism and rhetoric cannot and should not suppress truth….“that the less we use our power the greater it will be."
