Dimapur DC issues travel guidelines

DIMAPUR, APRIL 30 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur has issued a set of guidelines for travelers and returnees. While most of the guidelines are similar to the State Government’s April 29 notice for returnees and travelers, the Dimapur DC’s order today conveyed additional information. 

It informed that all returnees or inbound traveler found to be symptomatic, even if he/she possesses a negative COVID test report (not earlier than 72 hours) and COVID-19 vaccination completion cerficate, will undergo Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at the point of entry on payment. Those without the negative test report or vaccination completion certificate will also undergo the same test. 

If tested positive, the person will undergo home isolation or get admitted in private hospital or government health institution depending on his/her health condition. 

All returnees and inbound travelers will additionally have to furnish an undertaking and undergo either paid or home quarantine for a mandatory 7 days. 

 Meanwhile, the Dimapur DC’s order informed that patients and attendants entering the State will be subject to production of COVID-19 negative test report and prior appointment with the concerned hospital. In case of serious medical emergencies requiring immediate admittance to hospital, patient and attendants shall be allowed entry. However, on arrival, such a patient will be tested and accordingly avail medical treatment. 

Operating procedures for businesses and events remain the same as the State Government’s previous order. However, the Dimapur DC informed that no hotels, lodges and guest houses shall host guests from outside the State if they do not posses COVID-19 negative test report. 

It was further informed that there is no restriction on intra district movement into Dimapur subject to adherence of COVID-19 behaviour.
