
Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): Following the Nagaland Government’s declaration of containment zones in Dimapur district, the Dimapur Deputy Commissioner has issued a set of orders to be followed in all containment zones. The DC notified that the order shall come into force with effect from 7:00pm of May 5 for a period of 7 days.
According to the DC’s order, all colonies within the 23 wards under the jurisdiction of Dimapur Municipal Council, all colonies under the jurisdiction of Chümoukedima Town Council, and all colonies/villages, along the Dimapur— Chümoukedima four-lane road falls under containment zone.
The order stated that all activities, including movement of persons shall be prohibited in the containment zones, except in case of the following permitted activities:
• Movement of goods vehicles including vehicles carrying oxygen/oxygen cylinders and other medical equipment.
• All health care facilities including Animal Healthcare, Hospital Clinics, nursing homes and movement of Healthcare workers. All pharmacies including those selling veterinary medicines.
• All persons going for COVID-I9 vaccination, COVID-19 testing and medical emergencies.
• All officers and staff working under District Administration, Police, Security forces, Fire and Emergency Services, Medical, Postal Services, NIC, NSDMA, Home Guards & Civil Defense. SDRF, Power, PHED, Food & Civil supplies, Finance, Treasury & Accounts, Banks/Insurance/ATMs, IT & C, IPR, Social Welfare Department including functioning of Sakhi One Stop Centre/ Women Helpline, Child Protection Services and Anganwadi Services, LPG Services including their delivery, distribution and transportation, Private Water Tanker/ Carriers, Prison and related service, Courier services, Dimapur Municipal Council, Chümoukedima Town Council, Gauhati High Court Kohima Bench and District Court.
• Construction activities
• Agri & Allied activities, all vegetable, fish/meat vendors, milk booths, provisional stores, tyre repair shops, bakeries, all local grocery store, including animal feed shops for public purchase may remain open from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Small, stand alone shop, in colonies subject to regulation by the respective ward/colony authority.
• Funeral services limited to not more than 20 persons.
• All shops in market complexes and single brand mall, clothes, apparel, footwear stores shall remain closed. Multi Brand stores like Vishal Mart, Big Bazaar etc may remain open, provided they sell only essential items and observe all necessary COVID-I9 SOP provisions.
• Petrol pumps shall remain open as usual, while ensuring there is no crowding.
• All establishments and personnel relating to electronic and print media, telecom/internet service providers.
• Dimapur airport shall remain open and movement of staff and passengers will be permitted.
• Hotels for lodging shall be allowed to remain open with minimum staff. Restaurants shall remain closed for in- house dining. Restaurants may, however, cater through takeaway or home delivery. Food delivery service providers and groceries delivery service providers are allowed to operate.
• Movement of all private passengers shall be allowed to ply on odd/even system with occupancy of 50% for the permitted activities.
• Public transport vehicles (both public and private) like buses, taxis, autos, two wheeler taxis etc shall be allowed to ply with occupancy of 50% with a maximum limit of 25% of such vehicles in the district. The necessary arrangements in this regard shall be done by the District Transport Office, Dimapur.
• All gatherings are prohibited and all places of mass gatherings will remain closed including religious places, except for solemnization of weddings wish prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner and shall be limited up to 50 persons.
• Night Curfew shall continue to be in force and the night curfew timing shall be from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am, as per April 21 order.
Any person violating this order will be liable to be prosecuted as per the relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act 2005, besides actions under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions as applicable, the order stated.
