Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum issues rejoinder

Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has issued a rejoinder to the reports alleging DDCF as “self-styled and un-mandated.” 

The forum issued a rejoinder to the fifteen bodies including some tribal organisations hailing from outside the state of Nagaland in its press release in the local media on October 5 supporting the shifting of DC Dimapur office to the new complex has termed DDCF as “self-styled and un-mandated.”

Stating “facts about DDCF and the present movement against shifting of DC Dimapur office,” the DDCF Media Cell in the press release reported that ‘on May 25, 2010, 84 leaders representing more than 24 organisations assembled at Thahekhu village and resolved to form an organisation accommodating all the tribal and non-tribal of Dimapur and coined the name Dimapur District Citizens' Forum. During which among the 15 tribal bodies -  Presidents and leaders of Chakhesang Hoho Dimapur District (CHDD), Rengma Hoho Dimapur, Chakhro Angami Kuda Union (CAKU) were signatory to the formation of DDCF.’

On movement against the shifting of DC Dimapur office, the forum said, “...is not just the interest of DDCF alone.” As per DDCF, on August 25, 2014, a meeting was called at Unity Hall, NCD Building of all the civil societies of Dimapur wherein it was resolved to oppose the move to shift the DC Dimapur office from the present location under the banner of DDCF.
