Devotees and members of the Sikh community attend the three-day commemoration marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Dimapur.
Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, and Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Dimapur, organised a three-day programme from August 28 to 30 to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
The programme, held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Police Colony, Dimapur, was part of the year-long national commemoration.
Traditional Gurdwara cultural artistes, members of the Sikh community, devotees, local guests, community leaders and members of the public participated in the programme over the three days.
The programme began on August 28 at 10.30 am with Arambh Sri Akhand Path Sahib, followed by the inaugural programme and a welcome address by Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha president Harjinder Pal Singh Ahluwalia.
Guru Prasad and refreshments were served, followed by evening prayer.
An Evening Diwan was held on August 29 from 7.40 pm to 8.40 pm, followed by evening prayer. The Gurdwara premises were illuminated to mark the occasion.
Guru Prasad and refreshments were served, while Langar was arranged for around 150 people. Local guests and community heads of Dimapur also participated in the programme.
The closing ceremony was held on August 30, beginning with Bhog Sri Akhand Path Sahib at 11 am, followed by Seva Nishan Sahib at 11.30 am. Tea and snacks were served by the Istri Satsang Sabha.
Shabad Kirtan by Bhai Harpal Singh and Sons was presented from 11.45 am to 1.30 pm.

Dr Pritpal Kaur Batra, IPS, DIG, CID, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
Following the welcome address by Ahluwalia, distinguished guests were felicitated by the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.
NEZCC Director Alobo Naga also addressed the gathering and spoke about the life and supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
He highlighted the values of courage, compassion, tolerance and freedom of faith associated with Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and said his message remained relevant to humanity, particularly in promoting peace, dignity, tolerance and unity.
Naga said the Northeast's cultural, linguistic and religious diversity was its strength and that culture could serve as a means of bringing communities together.
He also shared details of NEZCC's commemorative programmes held at Dhubri, Maligaon, Guwahati and Hojai, and informed the gathering about upcoming programmes at Agartala, Shillong, Imphal and Naharlagun.
Siropa and mementos were presented, followed by Ardas and Sampooran Samapti in the presence of heads, presidents and secretaries of various community organisations of Dimapur.
The programme concluded with Guru Ka Atut Langar at 2 pm, with Seva undertaken by the Samuh Sadh Sangat, Dimapur.
The three-day commemoration witnessed continued participation by traditional Gurdwara cultural artistes, members of the Sikh community, devotees, the local public, community representatives and leaders of various unions and samajs based in Dimapur, creating an inclusive atmosphere throughout the programme.
