Dimapur, August 18 (MExN): The Dimapur police, this week, have arrested four persons for cases related to burglary, extortion and also rescued one in connection with a case in Borpathar PS.
On August 18, one Niuto Awomi was arrested by the public while trying to steal money from ATM booth located at 4th Mile near Agri Expo. In this connection, one crow bar used for opening the ATM cash vault was seized. Accordingly, a case has been registered at Diphupar PS and investigation is going on, PRO, Dimapur Police informed in a press release.
It also informed that the Dimapur police on August 13 arrested two persons namely, Nitoho Kinimi and Tokato Jimumi for allegedly extorting money from business communities. A total of 32 numbers of vehicles tax information slip, one note pad, one visiting card of NNC (Non-Accordist) and cash of Rs 750 were seized from their possession. Accordingly, a case has been registered at East PS Dimapur and investigation is going on.
Meanwhile on August 17, in connection with a case in Borpathar PS, Dimapur police rescued one and arrested the alleged accused, Bijoy Deka from Purana Bazar, Dimapur. Later, both the victim and the accused were handed over to Borpathar Police, the release further informed.
