Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): Dimapur Police have arrested several people on various charges in the last one week. On September 9 around 4:45 pm, the Dimapur Police Anti-Extortion Team (AET) Zone-II party apprehended one person from Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur while he was allegedly extorting money from the shops. Identified as Toluto Chophy (22), Rejapeyu of NSCN (R), a regular case has been registered against him, informed a press release from Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur. Dimapur Police arrested another person from Selophe Bazar area, Dimapur while collecting illegal tax from trucks carrying sands and also seized cash Rs.1070/- from his possession on September 8, as per the release. A regular case has been registered against the accused identified as Kivika Aye (25), Khapur of NSCN (IM). Meanwhile, on September 8 around 5:00 pm, the Dimapur Police AET Zone-II party apprehended two persons identified as Tohekhu Zhimo (53) and Inaka Achumi (35). They were allegedly extorting money from Refuel Store. Three served extortion slips, 22 numbers of extortion slips, and Rs. 2780/- were seized from the two, the release said. In this connection, a regular case has been registered. The District Special Branch (DSP) personnel apprehended two persons, namely Nisuho (19) and Mulato Zhio (25) with one stolen Scooty bearing registration number NL07E9569 near Khermahal, Dimapur. The scooty was reportedly lost on September 6 from Bata Charali, Dimapur. A regular case has been registered and investigation is on, the PRO, Dimapur Police said in the press release. On September 5 around 3:30 pm, the Dimapur Police AET Zone – II apprehended three persons, including two juveniles, while they were allegedly distributing work permit in the name of GPRN (IM) at Lhomithi Colony, Dimapur. 157 numbers of work permit with assignment order of GPRN (IM) and cash amount of Rs.16,380/- was also seized from their possession, the release stated. The two juveniles were forwarded to observation home, Chumukedima. A case has been registered and further investigation is on. Meanwhile, 14th NAP (IR) Bn personnel apprehended one person from Super Market area, Dimapur on September 4 around 2:30 am with arms. One .22 pistol, one .22 pistol magazine, three .22 pistol live rounds were recovered from his possession. The arrested person has been identified as Kito Muru (28) of Purana Bazaar ‘B’ Dimapur. A regular case has been registered and further investigation is on, the PRO informed. On September 3, one person identified as Munuwsing Thouglonging (63) was apprehended by the Sovima ‘D’ Khel residents for attempting to molest a minor girl. In this connection, an FIR was lodged at the women police station and the accused was handed over to the Police Station. A case has been registered for further investigation, it was informed.
