Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): The Anti Extortion Team (AET) under Zone-I of Dimapur Police arrested two persons on charges of extortion on March 3. The two were found extorting money from the business establishments in Purana Bazaar area, Dimapur by the police, according to a press release from PRO, Dimapur Police The arrested duo has been identified as Angukavi Yepthomi, reportedly a 2nd Lieut. of the NNC (NA), and Tovika Sema. The release added that demand slips of NNC (NA) were seized from their possession and a case is under investigation at the East Police Station. The AET under Zone-II of Dimapur Police also arrested one person on charges of extortion when the latter was found collecting “unauthorized taxes” in the name of the NSCN (IM) on February 27, the PRO said. The arrested person has been identified as Khaka Yepthomi. The matter is under investigation at the West Police Station. In a separate incident, Dimapur Police recovered around 70 kg of contraband ganja from a vehicle (Datsun Go – MN-03-P-1632) intercepted at 7th Mile area, Dimapur on January 23. In this connection, one person identified as A. Lohe Chachü of Senapati was arrested and the case is under investigation at the Diphupar Police Station, the release informed.
