Dimapur Urban institution heads attend meeting

Dimapur, August 11 (MExN): Sensitization meeting on Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign (MRVC) for principals and nodal teachers under Dimapur Urban Block was held on August 9 at District Hospital Chapel Hall, Dimapur.  

Dr. Rebecca, DPO, RCH-UIP highlighted the basic strategies and operational plans for the campaign. She emphasised on the MRVC planning for schools and also highlighted several FAQs on MRVC.  

Rajesh Monsang, Project Director, UNDP updated the trainees on the Measles-Rubella scenario in the country and also how to organise vaccination session sites for smooth and efficient vaccination of the students. He further highlighted the role of the teachers to inform on MRVC to students as well as parents and also use various medium to create awareness on MRVC.  

The training was aimed to prepare the teachers to develop a proactive and encouraging atmosphere in the school towards vaccination; build a conducive atmosphere for the vaccination; address any queries the students or parents might have; and ensure that the child rest and is put into observation for any adverse effects following vaccination.  

Earlier, Dr Antoly Suu, Deputy CMO gave the welcome address and Ahoto Andrew, President, ANPSA, Dimapur district delivered the opening remarks. The meeting was attended by principals and nodal teachers of various private schools under Dimapur Urban Block.
