Records highest milk procurement over last 5 years

The 20th annual general meeting of Dimapur District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. (DIMUL) was held at the premise of Central Dairy, 7th Mile, on December 16.
Chairman, DIMUL, V Kehie, in his presentation of the Annual Report 2016-17, said according to a 2016 report by Indian Dairy Association, India continues to be the largest milk producing country, achieving an annual output of 155 million tons and is set to be the largest consumer of milk and milk products as of the year 2016.
The DIMUL chairman said for DIMUL, the year in retrospect has recorded the highest milk procurement over the last five years with an increase of 27.13%.Similarly, in the marketing front there has been corresponding increase of ‘Lassi’ by 27.29% and ice cream by 36.02% respectively. Kehie also informed that a popular new product ‘plain dahi’ was launched during the year.
“It is heartening to note that consumer patronage for DIMUL quality milk products has been accepted well in the market. The year recorded a total sales turnover of Rs. 1011.25lakhs, an increase of 9.6% over the previous year,” he said.
Managing Director, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd, Imtilemba Longkumer, who presented the budget proposal for the year 2018-19, said the estimated expenses is pegged at Rs. 1447.56 and the estimated income at Rs. 1463.56, reflecting an estimated profit of Rs. 16 lakhs.
Chief Executive Officer, DIMUL, Dr. Mhasizokho presented the audited statement of accounts for the year 2016-17. Six categories of awards were also presented on the occasion and awardees include Kikhuru DCS (Best Dairy Cooperative Society Award), M/s Plaza Bakery, Kohima (Best Retailer), M/s Sanmati Traders, Dimapur (Best Dealer), Chatra Thapa of Bhola DCS Singrijan (Best Secretary), Timikha Koza of Bhola-II Khriezephe (Best Producer), and Khriesamhal (Best Worker).
Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies, B Bumo, and two dairy farmer representatives also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Manager (P&QC) DIMUL, Er. Meyie-ü Mero, delivered the welcome address.
