Dimapur, March 28 (MExN): The Diocese of Kohima, together with Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, the Bishop of Kohima, the Priests, and the entire catholic faithful of Nagaland remembers late Rev. Fr. N.A. George Neimannil on his eighth death anniversary that falls on March 29. Coincidentally this year the death anniversary falls on Good Friday.
Rev. Fr. N.A. George Neimannil, was a diocesan priest of the Diocese of Kohima. He came all the way from Kerala as a missionary to Nagaland since 1980 and worked among the Nagas till the end of his life. During his life time of 42 years on this earth, he faithfully followed the footsteps of Christ as he brought the love of God through his pastoral oriented approach and behaviour. He was dearly loved by the people whom he worked for. While he was the Dean of Studies in Good Shepherd Seminary, Dimapur, he won the hearts of seminarians by his "caring nature, cool efficiency, deep spirituality and sportsmanship". He was a friend of the youth and had a special interest in them and thus had an exceptional ability to guide them.
On this eighth anniversary of his death, the Diocese recalls with gratitude for all the yeomen service that Rev. Fr. N.A. George Neimannil rendered to the catholic faithful of Nagaland and prays fervently for the repose of his soul. The legacy left by him has been a source of inspiration and guidance for many young and old missionaries alike.
