Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): Realizing the need to vaccinate a population of over 20,000 in Diphupar A, the Village Level Vigilance and Monitoring Cell COVID-19, Diphupar Village Council, approached the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr Mereninla for extension of another sub center at the village as the present Diphupar Sub-center was congested to cater to so many beneficiaries.
Acknowledging the genuine need of the village, CMO Dimapur, after consultation with the higher authority, gave permission for opening an extension of sub center at the Diphupar Village Council Hall, where vaccination for beneficiaries above 45 years of age started on April 30 with a 6-member vaccination team, a DIPR report informed.
During a brief COVID-19 vaccination introductory programme on Friday, CMO Dimapur appealed the Diphuparians to get the vaccination and avail the opportunity provided by the Government. She reminded the gathering not to believe negative rumours about the vaccination and asserted that there were no adverse effects so far at Dimapur. She further reminded them to continue to practice COVID-19 appropriate behaviors as the second wave is hitting the country more aggresively, including Nagaland.
Dr Mereninla also asked the Village Council to monitor all the returnees coming to Diphupar Village and reminded them about the latest SOP where all returnees are required to produce negative RTPCR report. She lauded the Diphupar Village Council for always being supportive and for taking the initiative for vaccination programme this time too.
Short speech was also delivered by Medical Officer Chümoukedima, Dr Narola while Pastor Tangkhul Baptist Church Diphupar, Rev Candid Satro invoked God's blessings. Co-convener VLV & MC, Zuchumo Mozhui chaired the programme and Head GB Diphupar Village, Kekhwetshu Khutsoh proposed the vote of thanks.
