DIPR Addl Director Dominic Yazokie passes

Kohima, August 24 (MExN): Additional Director of the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) Dominic Yazokie passed away on Thursday following a brief illness in Kohima.  

Yazokie joined the Department in the year 1985 and had notably served as PRO Delhi for several years before joining the Directorate as Deputy Director. He was also posted as PRO, Raj Bhavan and Nodal Officer, Chief Minister’s Office, shouldering both assignments very capably.  

The Director, Officers and staff of the DIPR offered their condolences over the untimely demise.  

“With an amiable personality and wide knowledge and experience, Dominic Yazokie was a guiding force in the Department. Even during his brief illness, the Department had felt his absence greatly and the Department, as a whole, is yet to come to terms with his untimely demise,” the DIPR stated in a condolence message.  

“In his death the Department in particular, and the society as a whole, has lost a very capable officer,” it added and prayed that the Almighty grant solace to his bereaved wife, Ako Nakro, his children, grand children and family members.  

Nagaland Governor PB Acharya expressed shock and sadness at the demise of Dominic Yazokie.  

In a condolence message addressed to Ako Nakro, wife of late Dominic Yazokie, the Governor recalled Dominic’s long association with Raj Bhavan, Kohima as the PRO to the Governor of Nagaland and stated that his contributions, sacrifices and service to the people for the development of the State will be remembered by all.  

“He has served the Department and the Government of Nagaland in various capacities without fail and his loss will create a vacuum in the Department,” the message read.  

Governor Acharya conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and all near and dear ones and prayed that the Almighty grant strength and solace to overcome the grief.  

Neiphiu Rio

Member of the Lok Sabha, Neiphiu Rio expressed grief to learn of the demise of Dominic Yazokie.  

In a message, Rio reflected on late Dominic’s tenure as PRO in Delhi and stated that he was a “fatherly figure” to many Naga students and an efficient officer.  

“In his demise, the Government in particular and the people of Nagaland in general have lost an efficient and experienced officer whose absence will be conspicuously felt in the days to come. It is hoped that his memory will inspire many youngsters to join the media fraternity and follow in his footsteps,” Rio’s message read.  

“In this hour of sorrow, my wife and family join me in expressing our deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family. We pray that Almighty God will bestow His grace and strength upon each and every one of you to bear with the loss of your dearly loved one,” it added.  

NPF

The Media & Press Bureau of the Naga People’s Front, Central Headquarters, Kohima, Nagaland, expressed pained to learn of the sudden demise of senior media person Dominic Yasokie who was serving as Additional Director in the department of Information &Public Relation.  

“Ever a jolly person, he endeared himself to one and all, young and old who met him,” a message from the Media & Press Bureau, Naga People’s Front stated.  

“Those of us who have had the opportunity to know him remember him as someone who had a smile permanently on his face with a most agreeable personality: Polite, decent and a thorough gentleman. He was an inspiration to the younger media persons and his memory shall live in our minds forevermore,” it added.  

The Media & Press Bureau of the NPF extended its heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed that the Almighty grant solace and comfort to the grieving members.  

DPC

The Dimapur Press Club (DPC) also condoled the demise of Additional Director, Information & Public Relations, Dominic Yazokie who passed away after a brief illness on August 24 in Kohima.  

“The DPC convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray to Almighty God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul,” the press club stated in a condolence message.  

KPC

The Kohima Press Club (KPC) expressed shock and sadness over the untimely demise of Dominic Yazokie. “Late Dominic was a well wisher and has also been a fatherly figure to the press fraternity. In his demise, the KPC as well as the society have lost a humble officer and a fine soul,” the club stated.  

KGOK

The Kigwema Gazetted Officer Krotho (KGOK) stated that it was shocked and saddened to know of the untimely demise of Dominic Yasokie.  

In his death, the KGOK has lost a very vibrant and dynamic member, who was always concerned for the uplift and the welfare of the association, a message from the Krotho stated. The Krotho conveyed heartfelt condolences to near and dear ones and further prayed that the Almighty give strength and solace to the bereaved family.
