Wokha, April 29 (DIPR): A combined team of State Disaster Response Force team (SDRF) DEF from Wokha, CD and Home Guard, Wokha conducted demonstration on Earthquake drill, search and rescue and emergency first aid at four educational institutions in Wokha viz Government Higher Secondary School, Libemo memorial School, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and Mt. Tiyi College on April 27 and 28.
Some of the important topics imparted to the students of these institutions were, ‘Precautionary step’, points to be followed during/after an earthquake and other emergency situations, patient ‘Injury assessment/management’, ‘CPR procedure’, ‘Different method of bandaging/tourniquets applied for fracture/ injuries’, ‘Stretcher techniques for moving/transfer of injured/casualties from incident site to safe zone’, ‘Different method of knotting which are useful during emergency situations’.
SP, Wokha T. Chumrenthung Lotha lauded the combined SDRF team from DEF and CD & Home Guard for the enthusiasm shown during the demonstration and further encouraged them to conduct more such programmes for better awareness among the students as well as the general public in the light of unpredictable geological conditions in the country in general and the state in particular.
