Kohima, March 20 (MExN): The Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Nagaland, Kohima organized a District Handloom Expo at BTC Ground, Pfutsero Town under Phek district from March 15 to 19 last.
Dr. Riku Khutso, EAC, Pfutsero inaugurated the Expo on March 15 and thanked the department for organizing the expo in Pfutsero where the local weavers are being provided with a platform to exhibit, promote and market their products.
Cholzo Sophie, General Manager, DIC- Chozuba informed that the objective of the expo was to provide a platform with a focus on uncovered and talented weavers to showcase and sell their handloom products.
Altogether, 25 stalls were set up by the local weavers.
He also thanked the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India for funding the expo.
The expo concluded on March 19 with an interactive session between the department officials and the participants.
