District Level Kala Utsav competitions held

Kohima, September 24 (DIPR): Kohima District Level Kala Utsav Competition 2017 was held at Multipurpose Hall, Ruzhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School Kohima on September 22 under the theme, ‘One India, Best India.’ The programme was organised by the District Education Officer’s office, Kohima under RMSA programme.  

Joint Mission Director RMSA, Visiezilie Yashu highlighted that Kala Utsav is the celebration of folk song, folk dance and theater to promote the talents of young generation in performing arts, dance, music and theater. He said this kind of activity is to begin from the higher secondary level. Challenging the student communities, he stated that this kind of competition will bring people closer from different states in the country.  

Joint Mission Director RMSA Visiezolie encouraged the participants to perform with great determination and also stated that winners from the state level winners will represent the State of Nagaland at Bhopal in January next year.  

In the dance category, TM Government Higher Secondary School, John Viswema GHSS, Jotsoma GHSS and Sendenyu Government High School participated in the competition. In the theatre category, Chiechama Government Higher Secondary School and Chunlikha Government High School were the participants. The panel of judges comprised of Kikruyalie, Asst. Research Officer, Hiklo Khing, Supervisor, DEO Kohima and Talingangla, SDEO Kohima. 

In the dance competition, Government High School Sendenyu bagged the first position and Government HSS John Viswema was the runner up. In the theatre category, Government HSS Chiechama bagged the first position and Government High School Chunlikha was adjudged the second winner. They will represent Kohima district in the state level Kala Utsav Competition.  

Dimapur: The District Level Kala Utsav competition for Dimapur district under the theme 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat" organised by Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan and District Education Society (RMSA) Dimapur was held at GHSS Dimapur on September 21.  

Competition was held in two categories, namely Dance and Visual Arts where four Government schools participated. In dance competition, GHS Akahuto and GHS Naga United bagged the first and second positions while in Visual Arts GHS Sarbura and GHS Khaghaboto emerged first and second respectively. The winners of first position in both categories will be participating in the state level competition.  

The competition was judged based on E-Project, customs, originality, and inclusion of children with special needs, name/title of dance/Art, visual effect, sequence steps and team work.  

Headmaster GHSS Dimapur, Mathung Lotha, DPRO Dimapur, Lolano Patton and District Art &Culture Officer, Lampha Konyak were the judges of the competition.
