District Review Meeting held in Kohima

Kohima, May 16 (MExN): Office of the Chief Medical Officer along with District Health Society, NHM, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima held District Review Meeting at its conference hall on May 12.  

Speaking on Universal Immunization Programme, Dr. Avile Zao, DPO (RCH-UIO) urged all the Medical Officers to be more prompt in conducting immunization session and monitor well after every immunization week as the programme upholds to improve child’s health and inculcate better health seeking behavior. She presented the achievements of last district immunization programme and requested the house to form better monitoring group amongst the health providers. She further stressed on the need to be more responsible in the immunization schedule as health providers are in the forefront when it comes to immunizing a child.

Dr. Avile also focused on the Immunization Schedule, Work Plan and Session Plan. Based on maintaining Cold Chain on Immunization Site, the health providers should know the importance of Village Health & Nutrition Day with proper logistic and manpower, she stated. Under the Universal Immunization Programme, she added, the recording and tracking of dropouts is the mainstream of the Immunization Chart. Meanwhile, Dr. Avile stated that on the last list of making a better health for a child is to be well versed with Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) by taking steps to prevent programmatic errors of AEFIs and report all AEFIs.  

DTO, Dr. Asünü informed the house regarding Revised National TB Control Programme, while ZLO Dr. Aseno shared on NLEP to the Medical Officers. The technical presentation of health unit was done by Dr. Cheyale Kath, MO, Chunlikha PHC with the performance outcome of last financial year. CMO, Dr. Avino Metha informed the house to do comparative study of every health units under their jurisdiction at the block level.
