District youth convention held in Wokha

Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): A total of 60 Youth Leaders from Wokha on March 10 participated in District Convention organised at the District Planning and Machinery Hall, Wokha with Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, A Robin Lotha and Jackie Ruvah, Zonal Director NYKS Kohima as Chief Guest and Guest of honour respectively.   The convention organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Wokha, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India had Thavaseelan IAS SDO (C) and Asalie Lese EAC, DC Office Wokha as the resource persons. Speaking on the occasion, DC Wokha said youth can do a lot of things in the society, church and village. The activities of the youth clubs have to be promoted through the programmes and activities of Nehru Yuva Kendra.

  Thavaseelan IAS highlighted all the Flagship programmes of the Government. While Asalie Lese spoke about the role of youth clubs in building the nation. The deliberation was followed by adopting certain recommendation which among others included Youth Clubs will take initiative to disseminate information about the flagship programmes to the Community; the youth clubs will organise debates to discuss various issues in the society; Youth Clubs can assist and aid District Administration and NGOs in implementing programmes meant for the public.   A press note informed that it also inaugurated 7 days non residential life skill education training camp at Mount Siani School with Tsutsowe Kupa EAC (judicial) as the guest of honour.
