
Dimapur, august 26 (MExN): The Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) held its 2nd Fresher’s meet-cum-3rd Academic Excellency award at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur on August 26. Retired Additional Director Land Resource and Mission Director Bio Resource Mission, Moatoshi Longkumer as chief patron and Social Entrepreneur Ringo Odyuo as guest of honour respectively graced the first session.
Addressing the students, Moatoshi reminded the students to have the burning desire to learn saying that academic excellence required good skills, discipline and hard work. He urged the students to play their own part before seeking support of the parents, teachers and the community. Reminding the students that there was no substitute to hard work, he called upon the learning community to seek academic excellence and not to be contended with what they are. He further encouraged the students to take decision what they want to become in life before joining the college.
Guest of honour, Ringo Odyuo said that Naga youths are second to none and that given the opportunity the youths have the talent to excel in the every field.
However, he lamented on the current scenario faced by the people in the state. He therefore urged the students, who were considered as the leader of tomorrow, to take the lead and bring the changes.
Earlier, Rev. Zanao Mozhui, pastor Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur (LBCD) said a special dedicatory prayer for the students including the freshers. Mhademo Kikon and Jonchibeni Ngullie were crowned as DLSU Mr and Miss Fresher 2017 respectively.
