Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) informed that obtaining prior permission from the council is now mandatory for organizing any seasonal festivals, events, carnivals, fairs, or similar activities within its jurisdiction.
According to an official notification, this measure is being enforced to ensure proper regulation, public safety, effective traffic management, and the maintenance of cleanliness during such public gatherings.
The DMC has directed all individuals, organizations, institutions, and groups intending to host such activities to secure the necessary permission in advance from the council's permit branch.
The notification stated that organizing any event without prior approval will be treated as an unauthorized activity, liable for action under relevant municipal laws and regulations.
The council has also appealed for cooperation from all citizens to help maintain public order and ensure the smooth conduct of events across the city.
