Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): Dimapur Municipal Council Administrator, Moa Sangtam has informed all colony councils and GBs under Dimapur municipality to keep strict vigil on public throwing tree branches and other non-household waste in public dustbins and disposing garbage in drainage.
In an order, the Administrator observed that some residents are in the habit of throwing tree branches and other non-household waste in public dustbins causing inconvenience to the residents in the area as well as difficulties in collection and disposal of the same. Therefore, he said, throwing of any such waste in the public are strictly prohibited.
Sangtam further observed that some residents are also disposing garbage in the drainage, which leads to clogging and results in flood during heavy rainfall. Therefore, disposing garbage in the drainage is strictly prohibited henceforth, the order stated.
The colony councils and GBs were asked to report to the DMC in case of any defaulters.
