Dmp can become major health hub

Nagaland Governor, K. Sankaranarayanan opined that Dimapur can become a major health hub in the North East after Guwahati. “Our doctors, nurses and paramedics are amongst the best and the giant strides made are also seen in the good number of private hospitals that have come up in Dimapur and Kohima,” Governor said in his address at Republic Day celebration here Saturday. Social sectors, especially health care and education hold the key for a robust, educated and healthy human resources, he said adding that the National Rural Health Mission has opened up the possibilities for improving our district hospitals, CHCs and PHCs, he said.

In addition, Sankaranarayanan said, setting up of Diagnostic Centers at Mokokchung, Tuensang, Wokha, Zunheboto, Phek and Mon will ensure quality health care facilities at the door steps of the people.

He also stated that the much-cherished dream of Referral Hospital, Dimapur under the joint management of Government of Nagaland, Christian Medical College, Vellore and Emmanuel Hospital Association and with the brand of Christian Institute of Health and Research (CIHSR) has come true.
