DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 28 (MExN): The Divisional Forest Officer, Dimapur today issued a statement pertaining to a press release issued by the Director of Geology and Mining on September 26.
The latter press statement was in regard to the Office Memorandum (OM) issued by the Principal Secretary, Department of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of Nagaland concerning the Nagaland Mineral Concession Rules (NMMCR) Act.
A press note from the Dimapur DFO, K Ihevi Aomi termed it “unfortunate for the Director, Geology & Mining to state that the Office Memorandum issued by no less than The Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland is irrational.”
The Dimapur DFO affirmed that he would continue to supervise the collection of revenue and regulation of Forest Transit Passes as per the Office memorandum.
