Dimapur, April 7 (MExN): The Flying Squad and Static Surveillance team of Dimapur Police have been conducting various checks and raids regularly for the past week in order to curb the movements of illegal liquor and other contraband goods, including illegal cash during the election period. Stating this in a press release, additional superintendent of police/ PRO, Dimapur informed that during checks and raids at different locations in and around Dimapur and highway, which includes more than 2000 vehicles, many seizures were made. The detection and seizures included 1800 bottles of various brands of IMFL and a cash amount of Rs.1,22,400/- only. According to the note, in these connections, a total number of 11 persons have been taken into custody and bound down under various sections of law. The Flying Squads and Static Surveillance Team will continue to carry out such checks in compliance with the directives of the election commission, the note added.
