Dmr producing about 80 metric tons of waste per day

Dimapur: “Each person including a new born baby is producing about 200 grams of solid waste per day. A household of six persons is producing a minimum of 1200 grams or 1.2 kg. With a population of four lakhs, Dimapur is producing about 80 metric tons per day. In a month, the city produces 2400MT approximately and in a year, about 28,800MT solid waste is produced. If this is the scenario, how much are we doing to manage the wastes in our homes and city?”
