DNSU expresses concern over ‘forceful imposition’ of vax

Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) has expressed serious concern over alleged complaints that some educational institutions have been denying unvaccinated students, entry into the institutions.

In a press release on Wednesday, the DNSU Media Cell cited complaints received from students, parents and guardians and appealed to the authorities of the institutions to exercise wisdom and be logical in enforcing vaccination mandates, without risking students’ careers.

Stating that the Supreme Court of India has opined that any individual including the students should not be forced to take vaccination, the DNSU said it was shocked and appalled by the “non-sensible directive” of the government of Nagaland to allow only vaccinated students in the institutions.

The DNSU Media Cell stated that the state government’s latest standard operating procedure (SOPs) which requires in-bound travelers to produce a RT-PCR negative report, vaccinated or not, indicates that “a vaccinated certificate holds no value for entry in the state,” and as such, expressed confusion as to why the vaccination certificate is so necessary for the students.

In this connection, it appealed the government to come up with a better strategy to cope with the situation, stating that the aforementioned directive only forces the student's career to be affected.

“The forceful imposition of the urgency to take the vaccine in schools is totally against the freedom of choice of every individual,” it asserted while informing students facing the same ‘coercion’ imposed by the educational institutions to contact the office (9077416856).
