DNSU extends support to JCPI demand

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) on Thursday extended its support towards the demand of the Joint Committee for Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) to table the Banuo's Commission report on Register of indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) and to make RIIN an Act in the upcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly commencing from February 12.

It also supported the JCPI’s demand to regulate RIIN with December 1, 1963 inclusive of Dimapur District as the cut off year.

“The Union stands as per the decision and demand of the JCPI and CSOs,” the DNSU stated while reminding the State government that the state is polluted with influx of illegal Immigrants and the citizens have lost their patience.

The DNSU appealed the state government to stop refusing and confusing its people and to put more effort as elected representatives.

Asserting that RIIN “must be implemented without any delay,” the DNSU also cautioned that if the government fails to comply with the genuine plea of the citizens, “the Union is ever ready to extend its full support with any democratic protest of the JCPI.”
