DNSU voices concern over alleged NEET-UG irregularities

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has expressed concern over recent developments and allegations relating to irregularities in the conduct of the NEET-UG examination.

In a press release issued by the union’s General Secretary, Michael Kath, the DNSU stated that NEET-UG remains one of the most crucial examinations in the country, serving as a gateway for thousands of aspiring medical students.

The union noted that for many students from Nagaland and other underrepresented regions, the examination represents years of perseverance, sacrifice, and hope for a better future. It stated that any doubt cast on the fairness of the examination not only affects individual aspirations but also undermines the confidence of the wider student community.

The DNSU asserted that examinations of such national importance must be conducted with “absolute transparency, accountability, and integrity.” It added that reports suggesting lapses or misconduct were deeply troubling and raised serious questions about the credibility of the system entrusted with shaping young futures.

In light of the concerns, the union urged the National Testing Agency and investigative agencies to undertake a thorough and impartial inquiry into the matter. It further stated that any individual or group found responsible should be held accountable in accordance with the law.

The DNSU also called on the authorities to take immediate corrective measures to restore trust and ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future. It maintained that the rights and interests of genuine and hardworking students must be protected at all costs.
Stating that students are already navigating immense academic pressure and uncertainty, the union said institutions must uphold the highest standards of fairness and responsibility.
