Do you think the overall work-culture in government offices, private enterprises are improving in Nagaland?

Some of those who voted  YES had this to say:
•    While it is good to see that the working culture in private companies are improving, it is not surprising that the work culture of the babus in the government offices have not changed at all. Rather than serving people, they expect people to serve them. The government officials think that they are the masters of everything with a know-all attitude. This arrogance will destroy them. On the other hand private companies are trying to be more professional and service-centered in their approach. This is good but it should not be overdone because it then seems too fake and insincere.
•    Yes, I think the over all work-culture in govt offices, private enterprises are improving in Nagaland.
•    There are preety young local entrepreneurs in the offspring as we see in every corner of the state-private or sponsored.
•    Its good to see that at least young men and women are beginning to take a more professional and ethical approach to their work in the private sector. No doubt there its far from perfect, with a lot more of exposure and training, I feel they will soon be in the same track. On the other hand if you look at the young Naga officers - either police or administrators - in the Nagaland government, I am very disappointed. They seem to have a chip in the shoulder. Rather than serving the people and introducing a more professional attitude towards work, they are not different from their senior police and administrative officers. So while we see some positive changes in the private sector, we see that in the government sector the over-all work culture is only deteriorating. I wish the young EACs and NPS officers would learn a lesson or two about being humble and serving the people.

Some of those who voted NO  had this to say:
•    Not at all. Just go and visit the government offices. Its a shame, one cannot even call it an office. The offices are dirty and filled with stains of tamul and paan on the walls, the bathrooms - if any - are stinking. Words are not enough to point out how the good governance of Nagaland government is in shambles. Our Naga bureaucrats and officers may have flashy cars and wear expensive clothes, but at the end of the day, the state of their offices is just a reflection of their inner self.
•    The babus, think they own and run everything. We have to bowdown to them, who come late for work, who push people around and unable to take decision by themselves to be treated kindly with money to push a file from one desk to other, they want respect as if they are gods. Some private enterprises is improving to customer needs and are very good unlike the babus in government offices, who seem to think that we the public are there to service them.
•    No, all are corrupted.
•    No way. The working culture in Nagaland is deplorable. No where are the workers so disorganized and from the sweeper to the secretary, everyone seems to be the boss. This kind of attitude towards work has been an hindrance. It is very unfortunate that even the young people of today are following the same working culture. This will lead the Nagas nowhere.
•    no not at all...still lots have to be done.........
•    office timing says it all.... we go to meet them at 11:00am they are not there, we go at 1:00 a.m. , the peon says " ohh sahib tu alop agea te hi ulai se, kali ahibi"
• Our people have no respect for time, integrity and real honest work. Unless these changes, I dont think our attitude towards making a better work culture will be possible.
• Simply no! I am hereby directing the government of Nagaland, why don’t you go and tackle it..see, “a person who has employed in the government sector hardly visits (touch and go) their offices twice in a year.” Yeah! I have evidence on the above quoted statement. Can tell me, work culture will improve if any possibility..? So as in the private enterprises are similarly related with it…lazy, dishonest, fraud…
•    We can still see govt servants coming late and going early as usual. Time to fire those who don't work and make way for those who are willing to work for the people!

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
•    Unless the education system changes I dont think the peoples work culture will change at all. We find that the educational institutions are not promoting positive mind and attitude towards work. We forget that it is through hard work that we make a living.
•    There is no professional work culture in Nagaland. This in turn is affecting the corrupt practices in government offices. It is important for private enterprises to promote an ethical working culture and the citizens must also demand and hold accountable the government offices who are not implementing a healthy work-culture.
•    Not exactly..........but some how in private enterprises are improving better then the work-culture in govt. office!!
•    Private enterprises are definitely on the move inspite of tax hi-cups, it will do better once Nagaland get over with UG thugs. Private companies/enterprises can help improve the work culture of govt. offices by implementing proper work ethics in their companies. Most private companies are youth oriented who have learned and exposed unlike the old ones at govt. office, so those youths in the private sector can definitely show them the way to work ethics.
•    Not sure. i dont work in nagaland. however when i look at my friends & families who are working back home i realized that there is LESS OR NO PRODUCTIVITY I think their daily schedule is too monotonous , too laid back which is really unhealthy for young & progressive minds.
•    Laziness has become a state of mind for the people in Nagaland. Whenever I go to Nagaland, it looks like people do not have anything to live for. They seem utterly helpless and maybe they feel they have no hope either. So cannot blame them that they do not feel motivated to work.
