Dimapur, June 10 (MExN): Nagaland university authorities are urged to “do something” over the current yet again ‘crisis’ in the troubled university. The Post-Graduate Students’ Union of Nagaland University’s Kohima campus said something ought to be done fast to bring about an immediate and amicable solution “rather than watching the drama.” In a note from its executives, the PGSU today extended support to the stance of the Lumami PGSU and sought the attention of the Chief Rector, the Governor of Nagaland, vice chancellor of NU and all authorities in concern.
They are urged to place the students’ welfare on priority and resolve the current issue. The PGSU of Kohima told the NU authorities that the university is not “an agitation ground”. “It is an educational institution, equivalent to a holy place then why are you creating an environment such that there is always strikes/agitations?” the PGSU queried of the NU authorities.
The PGSU challenged: “do you sometime realize what could be the reason behind.” The students have asked the VC to take immediate action and look into the matter so that the careers of the students are not hampered and “agitations do not become a regular feature of the university.”
