
Kohima, October 15 (MExN): The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS at the Conference Hall of DC Office, Kohima on October 15.
The meeting reviewed the last meeting minutes followed by deliberation of the day’s agenda. On registration of societies, DC informed that the seven applicants for fresh registration of society have been verified by the Screening Committee where the Board agreed to forward it to the government for further action.
During the meeting, the DC and Vice Chairman DPDB highlighted the activities carried out by the District Level Control Committee on Tobacco Control, where the committee has put in efforts in declaring tobacco free schools, colleges and institutions under Kohima district. In this regard, the DC requested all the District Head Officers to initiate a step towards making their respective offices as tobacco free place by putting up signage on any form of tobacco for declaration of ‘Tobacco Free’ Government Offices.
The meeting also discussed to hold its annual picnic and DPDB Day out in the month of November at Kezocha. In this connection, DC informed that a committee will be constituted, headed by ADC Hqr. Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa to come out with detail programme.
Informing that the presentation of awards to the best Adoption Committee will be held in the month of January, the DC requested the Adoption Committees to plan out their activities accordingly and to complete their activities, which are still in the pipeline by December month.
Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Dr. Ritu Thurr informed the house on the progress report of the ongoing Measles Rubella vaccination in Kohima district and informed that the outreach programme will begin from October 23. He thanked the DC Kohima, his administrative officers, Education Department, Social Welfare and all the concerned officers for mobilizing in their respective areas so far and further requested them and the DPDB members to continue their support in this campaign.
Dr. Menuosietuo Tseikha, District Project Officer Kohima, Department of Land Resources highlighted his department’s major activities such as PMKSY (erstwhile IWMP), Springshed Development and Coffee Plantation undertaken by the Kohima district. He said that under PMKSY, seven projects in four batches are being implemented in the District with various activities like water harvesting structure, bench terraces, contour trenching, half-moon terracing, check dams/gully plugs, afforestation, natural regeneration, horticulture development, plantation crops, SHG formations and livelihood groups. He informed that a total of 61 villages have been covered with a total area of 26,500 ha under the IWMP in Kohima district. Dr. Menuosietuo also informed that the Department of Land Resources, Kohima district 2016 has prepared a ‘Calendar of operations to be carried out for coffee plantation in a year’ and also initiated video on ‘Package of Practices of Coffee Plantation’. He informed that eight lakh saplings have been distributed this year for an area of 347 ha where five metric ton harvest is being expected.
MOKOKCHUNG: The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting, Mokokchung District was held on October 15 at ADC (Planning) Conference Hall under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice-Chairman, Mokokchung DPDB, Sachin Jaiswal IAS.
The Board after reviewing the last month meeting minutes took up the verification for recognition of Amenty Welfare & Educational Society, Longjang; Ashipong Foundation, Artang Ward, Mokokchung Town and First Blossom Montessori School, Tuliyong which were approved and recommended.
A power point presentation on Ayusman Bharat –National Health Protection Mission/Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB-NHPM/PMJAY) was presented by Dr. Sentirenla, Nodal Officer (AB-NHPM/PMJAY).
Dy. CMO, Mokokchung briefed the members on the ongoing Measles Rubella vaccination in the district which has achieved 88.24% of coverage, the highest in the state, follow up routine will continue to achieve the set target, he called upon the members to encourage the masses for vaccination.
The Chairman also informed the District Education Dept. on judicious utilization of RMSA annul grant for Govt. Schools.
MON: The monthly Mon District Planning &Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on October 15 at conference hall of DC Office, Mon. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS. He welcomed the DPDB members and introduced the new members.
On the agenda for registration of societies, Shiyong Social Development Societies, Soul Local Societies at Naganimora, National Boundary School Society at S/Wamsa and Little Angel Welfare Society Naganimora have applied for registration, and have been verified by the concerned Administrative Officers and Committee where the house decided to forward it to the Higher Authority for necessary action. The house approved the verification committee for LADP 2018-19.
