DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 15 (MExN): NPF president Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu has revoked the expulsion and suspension orders issued to NPF legislatures and the Lok Sabha MP during the intervening months of July and August 2017.
An order issued by the NPF president on Friday recalled that a crisis had been created through defection by a number of NPF legislators which culminated in the dismissal of the NPF government in Nagaland on July 19, 2017. It went on to state that the two working president authorized by the NPF president had expelled 19 NPF legislators under the recommendation of the Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) and also suspended 11 NPF legislators for anti-party activities on July 21, 2017.
One more legislator was placed under suspension on July 25, 2017 and the lone Lok Sabha MP was also placed under suspension on August 1, 2017.
Now with the reconciliation process already taken place and the NPF general convention also held successfully on November 22, 2017 as per the directive of the Election Commission of India, the NPF president announced that on recommendation of the DAC, the expulsion and suspension orders have been revoked with immediate effect.
